Wordless Wednesday - Troy vs. Nana

I'm pretty sure Troy won this battle, but no worries, Nana will come back with something.  Anytime Troy picks on (my) Nana, she calls him Roy...I love it!

I'm not sure which one of them enjoys their teasing more!

Don't worry, Nana did get some extra cuddles too!

Christmas 2012 Continued

Back to our crazy...but fun Christmas day....

After we did Santa and gifts from us at our house, we headed over to Troy's parents' house to do Christmas with them.

Owen was so excited to give MeeMaw and PawPaw the presents he had picked out for each of them.  He got MeeMaw some cookie cutters, and of course she loved them!

Then it was PawPaw's turn, and this was the gift that O was the most excited about....he just knew that PawPaw would love the frame that he got him with a picture of a boy and a man together...

Yes, that is correct, the frame says "Daddy".  We thought about putting a piece of paper beside it that said "Grand", but O was so happy/excited, we decided to leave it!  Each year I can't wait to see what O has bought for everyone, it's soo cute!!

Owen also got his Uncle Todd an Angry Bird hat....which little did he know that he would get a matching one.  He couldn't wait to take this picture with their matching hats!

This year for O (5 years old) was so much fun, he was generally excited for everyone.  He handed out the gifts and wanted to see just what everyone got.  I love this little picture of him!

I promise Brynnleigh was with us....she just wasn't into the whole present thing.  She just didn't like unwrapping, she wanted the gifts just handed to her.  We did try to have some fun while unwrapping!

We left MeeMaw & PawPaw's and headed over to Missy & Papa's house to do a quick Christmas with them before the family headed over.

O was so excited to get his new Hess vehicle for the year!

Brynnleigh needed a little help, but she quickly started realizing why she should unwrap her presents....Missy helped her get started.

They both got a total of 3 stockings, one at each of the houses....they truly are spoiled kids!

B got a Doc McStuffins doctor kit from Santa, and a note pad from Missy & Papa...she was diagnosing everyone and making sure to document everything!

Then my extended family came over and we ate, laughed and opened more presents!!  Afterwards, we headed back to Troy's parents house to do dinner with his extended family.  Unfortunately most of them had gotten sick, so we just exchanged presents with the kids and ate dinner.  I do have pictures, but it involves other kids, and I don't want to post without their permission!

We had a fabulous Christmas and I loved every second spent with family!

Wordless Wednesday - All Grown Up!

Seriously, how do kids grow up so fast?  I swear just the other day O was 3 and B was itty bitty....but no, now at 5 (almost 6) and 2, they look like little adults...and while I love it, I hate it too...

Owen - 5 years old (a month shy of 6)

Brynnleigh - 2 years old

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it in a bad way, I love to watch my babies grow and experience new things, I just wish it did not happen so fast!

Sorry for the blurry i-Phone pics, I do use my nice camera...but trying to get a 2 year old, and an excited and tired 5 year old to stand still for a picture is tough work so I have to use what is the closest!

I have a giveaway that ends this week, make sure you check it out and enter HERE, The 5 Money Personalities is an amazing book!

The 5 Money Personalities Review & Giveaway

Do you know your Money Personality?  I did not before reading, The 5 Money Personalities: Speaking the Same Love and Money Languages, by The Money Couple, Scott and Bethany Palmer.

I typically do not read these types of books, but money is very important to me (and everyone else too, right?) so I thought I would give it a try.  I've always told everyone that the only issues that Troy & I would have with each other, would be based on money.  Not because either of us is frivolous or too cheap, but because both of us are very anal about money and how it is used (or not used!).

I went into this book, thinking "this really won't pertain to us, we have pretty good plans set up", well yep, I'm like 98% of everyone else and had no clue what a Money Personality even was! It's not your retirement, college, or savings plan, it's how you look at/spend/save money, as well as your partner and how you comunicate with each other, based on your personality!

This is a must read for every couple, or everyone in general really.  It tells you so much about yourself, and your partner.  It's a very easy read, and down to earth.  Not so factual that you can only read a page and have to put it down like other books of this nature.  It puts everything out there in real life perspective, and makes everything relatable.  I even caught myself comparing myself to some of the people, and laughing throughout!

About The 5 Money Personalities
The hidden key to a healthy relationship is not just managing money but understanding how the other approaches money.
Every couple argues about money. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been married for 40 years or dating for 4 months, money touches every decision you make as a couple—from the $5 cup of coffee to the $50,000 car. And when the two of you don’t see eye-to-eye on how much to spend or how much to save, that’s when arguments turn into ugly toxic fights that leave both persons feeling hurt and angry. It’s why money has become the #1 cause of divorce in the U.S. Obviously, something needs to change. The reason this crisis has not been addressed is because it has never been identified, defined, or given a name. Scott and Bethany Palmer, aka “The Money Couple,” have identified and defined this problem and offer concrete solutions to fix it.
Once you know your Money Personality, you can get to the root of money arguments and start really working together. You’ll discover what has an impact on your loved one’s money decisions, and you’ll learn how to talk about money in a way that’s actually fun! You’ll figure out how to put an end to money secrets and lies once and for all.
It’s not just about money management, and it’s definitely not just about overcoming debt. It is a whole new way of living that will change everything in your relationship. Tens of thousands have already been transformed. Are you ready?

The Money Couple, Scott & Bethany Palmer, have their own website, Facebook page, Twitter account, and You Tube account.  So there is no excuse not to follow them! ; )

Wordless Wednesday - New Years Through Kindergarten Eyes

Monday I was volunteering at Owen's class - while waiting in the hallway I saw this...

That's right, O wrote "I like New Years BCTS I play." and I love it!

It's true - we do NOTHING on New Years day....well the kids at least.  Troy and I clean up all the Christmas decorations and the kids spend all day playing with their new toys.  We don't leave the house!  I love his train picture on his hat too.  That boy has been obsessed with trains for almost 4 years now!

Wordless Wednesday - Whatcha Lookin At?

This thing right here is 100% full of personality - and I love every last ounce!

We were eating "cuties" and making funny faces and I love this face because it is so her.  She is sweet, but don't cross her, she's tough!

Santa Came!! Christmas 2012

Christmas is by far one of my favorite holidays....not because of the presents, but because it's a whole day spent with my family! We are so lucky that we can see both of our families on the same day, and we don't have to juggle our time.  We also, don't have to open any presents before or after Christmas - it's just a perfect perfect day!

Here is our schedule on Christmas morning:

  • 7 am - Wake kids up and go see what Santa brought & open gifts from Mom & Dad
  • 9 am - Head to Troy's parents house to do Christmas with them
  • 11 am - Head to my parents house to do Christmas with them
  • 1 pm - My extended family starts to arrive at my parents to do Christmas with each other
  • 5 pm - Head to Troy's extended family (location changes each year) to do Christmas with them
  • 8-9 pm - Home to get kids in bed and do Christmas for Troy & I alone
Every single second is spent with family and I would do it every day if I could!

And now....a few pictures from our fun day...

Santa went a bit overboard, as always!

Granny, Brynnleigh, & Owen patiently waiting

O was so excited for his Mega Loop Mayhem

B & Her Doc McStuffins Dr. Kit

So excited - he is OBSESSED with Mario Kart!

Owen realized after about 5 minutes that Santa had brought his 3DS (or GPS as he kept calling it) - he was a bit excited!!  Oh, and don't worry - Mario Kart was preloaded!
Who needs a check up?
Owen asks Granny to spend the night every Christmas Eve, and I'm not sure who enjoys it more...

O also got his scooter w/out training wheels that he asked for.  (He had a 3-wheel scooter & when we took the training wheels off his bike, he said he needed them off his scooter too!)

Daddy had to test it out!

"Bawbie"
Brynnleigh got a baby set, which included a high chair, stroller, and pack and play...she may have gotten a bit confused...

Then we needed to open the gifts to the kids from Mom & Dad....and we may have gone a bit too overboard (word of the holiday right?) - at least 98% of these were clothes...

Owen got excited over everything...even underwear...he was soo much fun this year!

Brynnleigh was more into playing with her Santa "pwesents" than opening her gifts from us, so we just left them and she opened them later that night.

We then got dressed and ready to head to MeeMaw & PawPaw's.

More pictures to come from MeeMaw/PawPaw's house and Missy/Papa's house!!
