4th of July Pics

4th of July pics in September are better than no pics at all right??  I promise I'm trying to catch up...things have been crazy w/work, hurricanes, and Brynnleigh's 1st birthday party coming up!!  (Don't worry...I won't make you wait 2 months for birthday pics!)

Our 4th of July was very very relaxing (something that doesn't happen to us very often!)  Owen had swimming lessons that morning at 8 - then the neighborhood parade and then a fun day at home!!  O & I ran up to the pool a bit for the big celebration and he got to play on the inflatables...but of course, I left my camera in the car!!

Wordless Wednesday - Sophie The Giraffe

Okay...so back in July I finally broke down and bought Brynnleigh the "Sophie the Giraffe" teether.  I debated on this purchase for quite some time & made some phone calls while walking around Babies R Us for HOURS!!!

So...what was my hesitation?  It's $23.00 for a teether toy....I mean, maybe it's just me...but it seems a bit expensive for something you are going to chew on!! (esp. a toy you can't return)

Well...I decided to try it...since B was teething at the time and well, didn't chew on a lot.  My initial response - it reminded me of a dog toy - rubber & squeaked.  Had I been able to open in the store and touch & play with it, I WOULD NOT have bought it.  But, I tried anyways - and Brynnleigh's first reaction - she LOVED it!  It was my best purchase ever.  Even O liked it...I mean that fought over it.  I was so glad she liked it since it was so expensive.

Well...fast forward 2.5 months....and that GREAT $23.00 teether...is sitting in a toy bin.  In my oppinion - totally not worth it and waste of money.  She played w/it for about 3 days & moved on to biting my shoulder.

Oh well...I'd still be debating that purchase now, had I not gotten it!

Sorry this wasn't so wordless!

Phillies Trip!

Back in May when my husband, Troy, and I playing in our annual college golf tournament I entered a raffle.  I was upset when my $20.00 raffle got me 1 whole ticket.  Since when is a raffle that expensive and you only get 1 ticket?  My excitement quickily dropped as I walked back with my one ticket...totally knowing that I would not win a sleeve of golf balls or new golf bag with my one ticket.

When it came time to draw the raffle, I found out that it was a Super Raffle and there were four prizes, and as you got picked, you could pick your choice of the remaining prizes.  Well, when they drew number #3....I was shocked to hear my name....even more shocked to realize that I had my choice of a Phillies baseball package or a RMC Tailgating package (the other two prizes were Chicago Cubs tickets & National's tickets).  I don't think I could spit "Phillies" out fast enough....not because I'm a Phillies fan but I love baseball, and I'd never been to the Phillies stadium.

Soooo....about 2 weeks after I won, I found out exactly what I won...are you ready for this?  We got 4 tickets to the game, a tour of the stadium, actually got to go out on the field during batting practice, and dinner in the diamond club.  I couldn't wait to head up to Philly!!

We decided to invite an old college friend of mine & her husband to join us.  They live near Philly and are HUGE Phillie fans.

So we drove 4.5 hours north this past Saturday and met Jenn & Bob at the stadium.  Since I know nothing about the Phillies, I studied their line up the whole drive up and had it memorized by the time we got there....of course I mispronounced everyone's name (who invited the southern girl?)

I took a picture of the starting line up in the Press box...in case I needed to look during the game!

Our seats were AMAZING - we sat in the Hall of Fame club...here's our view:

We got some pics, but Jenn got way better ones...so check out her blog here! It was sooo nice to catch up w/old friends and enjoy a weekend away.  All this happened to be a few days before our 8 year Wedding anniversary too!!

I had so much fun, I just may start pulling for the Phillies (esp. now that I know the main lineup).  It was amazing to see how much support they had in that stadium and how much pride the city/fans had in their team.

We couldn't have asked for a better game - the Phillies won, and also clinched their division title.  We saw runners walked home, a grand slam, and much much more.  I may just have to plan a trip back to Phillie next season!! ; )

Jenn & Bob....thanks for joining us and helping this southerner learn how to pronounce everyone's names!!

That's right folks...I'm now...a Phillies fan!!

So....I had a BLAST Saturday catching up with old friends and watching the Phillies clinch their division (which also happens to be the division my Braves are in...but oh well!).  So much fun that I'm pretty sure I can now say I'm a Phillies fan.  It was awesome to see a crowd support a team soo much.  I've been to a lot of sports events, but I swear this is the first one where I saw this much crowd support and involvement.  I think I saw 1 person wearing Cardinals gear in the entire stadium filled with 45,000 people.

I promise to have a more detailed post soon with pictures....but until then you can go to Jenn's Blog and see super cool pics of our adventure!!

Total Excitement!!

So....I'm super super super excited about our activities this weekend!!  First thing tomorrow morning I'm running my longest distance ever, 7 miles.  While I'm super nervous, I'm excited, it moves me into a whole new class of runners.  Of course I haven't run since this past Friday (only 4 miles too) but I think I can do it.  This would put me past the 1/2 way mark of the 1/2 marathon...super big milestone!!

THEN, I get to go to O's first soccer game of the season and watch my little super star.

THEN, Troy and I get to jump on 95 and head north for 5 HOURS to meet up with some old friends and go watch the Phillies.  And get this, not only do we get to watch the game in nice comfy seats...we get a tour of the ball park, dinner, and I THINK we get to go on the field during batting practice....I just might not leave!!  I can see myself hitting pitches from the boys and running & sliding into home plate before the game....(remember that post where I said the things that run through my head are crazy....well, here's some proof).  Soo soo sooo excited!!

So, this little Braves girl...has got to study the roster on the way up north....because there are 2 things that Troy does not "love" about me....1st - I'm always late, and 2nd - nobody is "untouchable" in my eyes....if I see Ryan Howard (he's the 1st baseman...number 6 & I think the highest paid player on the team) I will go up to him like we've known each other our whole lives.  Now I won't pester, ask for an autograph (well maybe) but I'll just walk up and say "Hey Ryan Howard, nice night for a game, good seeing you, good luck" and walk away....and well...Troy just doesn't get it.  He likes to look from afar.

I'm going to miss my babies, and this will be the first night away from B...O was almost 2 before we left him, but I think it will be a good trip/get away for Troy & I....and it falls 3 days from our 8 year wedding anniversary!

So enjoy your weekends, and I'll be back w/some baseball pictures!!  (Hopefully, I still don't have my camera...ooops!!)

Wordless Wednesday - Costume Party!

Our friend's little girl had a Princess Party for her 4th birthday and asked all her friends to dress up.  O decided that he didn't want to be a princess (kidding...he never did...promise!) and wanted to be a pirate.  I had randomly picked up a Tinkerbell costume for B at Target last year for about $2.00
Originally we were going to throw O's costume together...until my AWESOME husband found that Party City had this costume complete w/hat for $9.99....totally worth it, and O loved it!  Of course I had to beg the lady to get it from the back since the costumes aren't out yet....but it only took 1 PUHLEASE!!

O was sooo sooo sooo happy with his costume...he wore it all weekend!!

Of course neither kid want to be a pirate or Tinkerbell for Halloween....but when do we ever do anything easy?

Thanks for including us in your birthday party Gracie....we had a blast!

Owen's photo shoot!

After taking Brynnleigh's 8 month pictures...O wanted some taken of him.  I had no problem with this since I love looking and sharing pictures of my babies!!  O is at a strange age right now, some days I can take pictures of him for hours, other's I have to catch him when he's not paying attention...so I totally took advantage of his willingness.

Most of these were taken of "Robot Owen" his obsession lately (well I guess for a year) has been robots...but he only likes to pretend to be a robot...he doesn't want any robot toys...but he has a great imagination with his robots and he tends to get his Mama Robot & Daddy Robot to play along!  Here are some versions of Robot Owen:

"mean robot":

The silly robot:

and the "Mama Robot" (those who know me well...know that I ALWAYS stick my tongue out in pics...especially if I've had any adult beverages!)

Owen, you are by far the best Robot I've come across in a long long time!!  I am so glad you use your imagination and allow Mommy & Daddy to join in on the fun with you!!

Happy 8 Months Brynnleigh

Brynnleigh turned 8 months old on 6/4/11 (yes I'm a few months behind...my goal is to catch up this month...we shall see).

Since her 7 month update...she's gotten 2 bottom teeth.  They are not all the way up yet, but you can see them.  This was the best pic I could get...still hard to see...
You are still such an easy happy going baby, and I'm sure you will make up for all of that around 12-13 year old!! ; )

No stats done this month...but here's what I've got...

Weight around 18 lbs
Clothes - 3-6 and 6-9
Diaper - Size 3 (just started these)
2 Bottom Teeth
You love to play with clothes, blankets, etc and your brother is still your hero!

Here's one of me & my baby girl...O took this for me...he loves to take pictures once we are done w/the "photo shoot"

Wordless Wednesday - Beach Bum

This happened every day at the beach...she gets this from her mama!!
