Wordless Wednesday - Merry Easter

So, this past Sunday, you know, exactly one week before Easter, we were granted a beautiful snow storm.

I won't lie, I'm a snow junkie, I LOVE the stuff, and so do the kids, but these following pictures just don't seem right.

Don't worry, our snowman did have a nice carrot nose, but it looks like he shared his nose with a friendly furry creature sometime during the night!

My little Easter bunny was very happy in the snow though, I think he would prefer the snow over the spring!

It would make Easter egg hunts a lot more fun, if you ask me!

These two, well they appear to be the best of friends...

And Mr. Bunny is loving every second of this snow!

So.....from our house to yours, Merry Easter!

Wordless Wednesday - Happy St. Patricks Day!

We typically do not do anything special for St. Patrick's Day other than the green and pinches but this year I found a super easy punch that I decided to make for the kids.

They LOVED their Leprechaun punch....which is lime sherbet and sprite....or, if you wait until the day of St. Patrick's Day it is the lime part of the rainbow sherbet and sprite! ; )

Owen and I attempted to make some shamrock cookies...until I realized the 100+ cookie cutter set I had did not have one single St. Patrick's Day cutter!!  O was very happy to make check marks (7's), X's, and question mark cookies with green sprinkles!

The rest of the day we hung out and played, nothing fancy, but lots of fun! O played with his Lego's most of the afternoon...

and Brynnleigh tormented her brother by stealing his Lego men and running around the house!  We did take a 5 minute break for some 80's hair photo ops!  Her hair is getting so long and I (well a normal person anyways, I'm HORRIBLE with hair) can finally do something with it!

We hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day Sunday!!!

ViveVita Everyday Elegance Chair Cover Review & Giveaway!

I was so excited when I was asked to review the ViveVita Everyday Elegance Chair Covers.  This is a product that we desperately need!  (you will see why below...trust me!)

Yes, these look like my chairs, but they aren't!
If I told you I was embarrassed about how our kitchen chairs looked would you believe me?  How about a little picture to give you a hint at just how bad they are...

I love our kitchen set, but it just was not made for a family with young kids.  These chairs show EVERY spill.  They have been cleaned numerous times, but always end up going back to this after a few short weeks.  I figured I could just re-upholster them later, once the kids are a bit older...but until then, I hate to have friends over for dinner, or a party which involves me using these chairs.
Before

(FYI - B's artwork is hanging above - it's a birdy "flying")

I was a little skeptical of these Chair Covers at first.  I mean, would they look okay at a kitchen table?  Would my kids be sliding all over the place while sitting at the table?  How would these covers feel?

I was impressed when I opened them up.  They come two to a package and feel great!

What I did not realize was that they are waterproof! (This pretty much made my day!).  It took me maybe 2 whole minutes to open the two packages (4 covers total) and place the covers over the chairs.  Super easy and no ties needed!  This was a huge plus since I am HORRIBLE at tying bows!! You just slip the front over the chair, and Velcro the back, then let the back flap cover the Velcro!  As O would say, "Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezey!"

After
I know these are a bit wrinkled, but for a 2 minute assembly, I can't complain.  It did not take long for the wrinkles to fall out.

These are the Creamy Brown covers.  I picked these so they would look like my original seats.  I am extremely happy with the color (well everything honestly).

The best part of these...well my husband figured out pretty quickly.  He looked at me and said "So, all you have to do is take them off and throw them in the washing machine?"

Yes, that's it!

Just a side note - they do recommend that you hand wash and line dry to maintain the water resistancy, but you can machine wash.  So before and after your next dinner party you can easily clean your seats!

Brynnleigh was excited to try them out as well.  They are a nice soft fabric, and they do not shift around while you sit.  If it stays on with my 2 year old terror princess, then they should stay on for anything!

These chair covers come in 5 great colors, Ebony Black, Creamy Brown, Sagey Green, Richly Red, and Simply Linen and you can purchase these through Amazon.

ViveVita has graciously offered to giveaway 2 sets (4 covers total) of Everyday Elegance Chair Covers to one of my readers!!  Please enter using the Rafflecopter below:

Puppet Monsters Review and Giveaway!

Your kids will have to have this....I am warning you now!  (Hey...you'll thank me later for preparing you....or giving you a great birthday present idea!)

Owen jumped when I told him we were given the opportunity to review the newest coolest toy, Puppet Monsters and he got to pick which one we reviewed!

He very quickly chose The Silly Dragon and could not wait for it to arrive!
So, what exactly is a Puppet Monster?  It's this really neat toy that you can wear on your head, and stick your fingers in the hands and then you let your imagination run wild.  You can put on a puppet show, sneak up on your family and friends and scare them, and much much more.  So much better than sitting in front of a TV if you ask me.

Also, the possibilities are limitless, there are 6 different monsters and 6 different accessories that you can mix and match.

How does it work?  Each Monster has numerous little slit like holes which allow you to attach the accessories anywhere of your choice.  The accessories have little tabs at the end that just slide right in.  It really is pretty easy, the only complaint I have is that sometimes the monster's fur/hair gets in the way, but in time, I'm sure it will be easier.

What I love about this toy is that each monster comes with a little pouch/bag that fits inside when not on your head, and holds all your extra attachments, so they are not lost, or all over your house!  You'd hate to be missing an ear!

O's Silly Dragon playing Peek A Boo!
I also love that it can also double as a nice fun winter hat that your kids will actually want to wear!  I know I have had many issues trying to get my kids to cover their heads due to the cold or wind, I know once I show them this as an option, there won't be any issues!

There is a great video on their website that shows you all you need to know!  Or just ask O, he'll come over and show you!

Not sure about the age range for this toy?  Well, I can tell you that my 6 year old and 2 year old both loved it!

Oh, and my husband (who's age I won't mention), yeah, he may have enjoyed it too!

So, how can you get one?  You can go straight to their website, www.buypuppetmonsters.com to purchase the monster and/or accessory package or you can enter to win one Puppet Monster of your choice using the Rafflecopter entry form below!

Wordless Wednesday - Go Chelsea!

I am the proud mother of the two cutest Chelsea fans!  (I may be a bit biased, but it's allowed right?)

It was beautiful this past weekend so we decided to take the kids up to our neighborhood soccer field (this may be one of the reason's we picked this neighborhood, just saying) and of course they HAD to dress the part!

It worked out though, Chelsea was actually playing Manchester United  and was down 0-2 at halftime, which is when the kids changed into their jerseys.  Then Chelsea was able to come back in the second half to tie the game to create a rematch between these two teams!

I hope this weekend coming up is just as nice as this past weekend.

Veggie Tales - The Little House That Stood Review and Giveaway

We are big Veggie Tales fans!  Owen had a Veggie Tales CD that we had to listen to in EVERY car ride for at least a year.  As soon as we jumped in the car O would yell from the back seat "Turn on my tomato and cucumber songs".  I will not tell you how many times I caught myself listening, and maybe singing along and then realize that O wasn't even in the car!  So in our house they are not called the Veggie Tales, but the Tomato and Cucumber!

The kids could not wait to watch the new Tomato and Cucumber DVD, The Little House That Stood!  This DVD was just released on Tuesday March 5th!

They did not move for the entire 49 minutes of the video!  They laughed and interacted, it was great!  I knew O would like it, since this is after his favorite song from his CD!

This was taken about 15 minutes into the movie:

I love that I don't have to worry about anything when I know they are watching the Veggie Tales.  I try to watch TV with my kids, but I can't always so having this DVD allows me to relax (or cook dinner, clean, do laundry) a little while they are having a fun movie treat!

You can find out more about this movie and find fun coloring pages and activities from it's very own Website.  You can also follow the Veggie Tales through Facebook and Twitter.

Roma Downey's Little Angels Prayers For Every Day Review & Giveaway

I am a sucker for books, hands down.  I love to read them to and with the kids and I love for the kids to have them to look at and read by themselves.  I love to read, and I am happy to say that both my kids also love to read (or be read to).  Both will sit and flip through books for hours and neither can fully read yet!

So, when I was offered the opportunity to review Roma Downey's Little Angels Prayers for Every Day I jumped with excitement!

About the Book:
Little Angels Prayers for Every Day features more than 50 simple rhyming prayers that cover a typical day and the typical worries of a young child. From waking in the morning to going to sleep at night, from thanking God for a meal to praying for His comfort when afraid, the prayers here will help little ones to see that any moment is a good moment to talk to God. Relevant Bible verses are scattered throughout the book as well!   From the moment I opened this book, Brynnleigh will not put it down.  She loves to look at the pictures and find the "angels" throughout the book.

I love that the pages are board pages instead of paper pages so I don't need to worry about Brynnleigh accidentally ripping a page, or drooling on it at night (yes, she sleeps with this book!).  The cover is padded a bit and just perfect for little fingers.

B asked Daddy to read the book to her last night...

Each page covers a few prayers for a specific topic such as Prayers for Morning, Prayers for Others, Prayers for Mealtimes, Prayers for Forgiveness, and many more!  It is a great way to teach little ones how to pray, when to pray, and what things you can pray for.

Remember when I said the book went everywhere....

and yes, she sleeps with a hair bow.  She rubs the hair bow to put herself to sleep.  So we have a 2 year old diva who loves books! ; )

I will definitely by this book for baby showers, baptisms, christenings, dedications, 1st birthdays, and new family members!

You can find out more information about this book (and others) using the links below (this includes ordering information as well).

Even better news...I have a copy to giveaway to one of my readers!
